IN MANDARIN (Citrus reticulate Blanco) ORCHARD IN JHALAWAR (RAJASTHAN

Abstract
Jhalawar is known as mini-Nagpur of Rajasthan in respect to
mandarin cultivation and production. Mandarin is the mainstay of farming in
this region. It covers 12000 hectares area in the district and the production
is of the order of 3.0 lac tonnes. In the district 0.43 - 92.33 % orchards were
found under custody of citrus decline. On an average 17.42 % orchards were
appeared declined in the study area. Citrus decline is major threat in this
area. It needs amelioration. Pruning the tree at 180 cm height from ground was found
effective remedial measure.
